The former Aston Villa winger scored only his second goal for the club since his £20 million summer move to put Kenny Dalglish’s side into the last four of the competition. And Downing admitted he was ecstatic to be returning to Wembley following the club’s success last month at the stadium in the League Cup final. \"I\'m absolutely delighted. It was a tough game, but the main thing is we got through,\" Downing told the club\'s official website. \"Now we have another trip to Wembley. \"I think it\'s got to be the highlight (of my Liverpool career so far). I\'ve enjoyed some big games, and the (League Cup) final was great \"It was a tough game for us, but the way we got the goal, and for me to score at Anfield, was a great feeling and I\'m glad it won us the game.\" The England international is eagerly anticipating the semi-final where Liverpool will either play Everton or Sunderland but Downing is confident of progressing no matter who they face. \"I\'m looking forward to it and hopefully I\'ll play,\" added Downing. \"No matter who we get, I fancy our chances against anybody as long as we keep playing the way we are.\"
