The Chicago Fire and the Houston Dynamo played out a 1-1 draw in a match which was cut short by 25 minutes because of lightning on Sunday. The game was halted for 70 minutes early on, but when play resumed Will Bruin slid home his first of the season after 24 minutes for the Dynamo. Logan Pause levelled five minutes later - albeit inadvertently as Pavel Pardo's free-kick deflected off him - but when the storms returned again in the second half, play was called off for good. Despite only 65 minutes being played, officials and both teams agreed the result should stand.
