The main oil pumping station in Tataouine desert is still close

Head and general director of Tunisian organization for oil activities, Moncef Al-Matousi said that, the main oil pumping station in Tataouine desert is still close, and this closure can have bad effects on Oil sector, as it is considered a threat to Tataouine oil farms.
He said in a statement to “Arab Today” that, closing the 750 km oil station could lead to a halt in production in this area, which accounts for 40 per cent of national production, expressing his worry about foreign active companies in the area which is anxiously waiting for the result of the current situation.
Stoppage of oil production in Tataouine and Qibli Adi farms led to the loss of 6000 barrels of oil distributed between 5000 barrels in Tartar field in Qibli province and 1000 barrels in all fields located in Tataouine, along with the delay in South Oil project which caused losses worth 2 million dinars per day.
