Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance and President of Zayed University

Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance and President of Zayed University, honoured the 15th batch of female Bachelor’s degree graduates from various specialties of the university’s Dubai branch during today’s ceremony at the Zayed University Convention Centre in Dubai.
The ceremony was attended by Major General Mohammed Saad Al Sharif, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, Dr. Reyadh Al Mehaideb, Vice President of Zayed University, Dr. Marilyn Roberts, Provost of the University and deans of colleges.
Sheikha Lubna gave the graduation certificates to 497 students who graduated from the university’s seven colleges, adding to 591 female and 163 male Bachelor’s degree students who graduated in the Abu Dhabi branch. The number of this year’s male and female Bachelor’s degree graduates at Zayed University totalled 1,251 students.
In her speech during the ceremony, Sheikha Lubna said, "Zayed University’s honouring today of a new batch of its female Bachelor’s degree students crowns its pride with their knowledge, by awarding them their graduation certificates for completing their journey of study and achievements in the university, according to their individual academic specialisation."
"There is no doubt that happiness has filled your hearts and the hearts of your parents. My daughters, the graduates, today you are realising the dream of graduating as a goal for achievement in this distinguishing stage of life, while you also show your pride to the world, with the generous support given to you by the wise leadership and its paternal monitoring of your courses in all stages of education. This great support engulfs you, and the encompassing and advancing train of development that takes you to the future, whose fuel comes from your youthful determination and your exceptionalism and excellence," she added.
She also expressed her utmost gratitude to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and their brothers, Their Highnesses the Rulers of the Emirates, for their solid and continuous support for higher education and educational progress by transforming and innovating education as the main cornerstone for achieving the goals of overall national development.
She also expressed her pride at the generous patronage from the Mother of the UAE, H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, for her sons and daughters, the graduates, and her prompt support for all stages of their educational development and their success, honouring their excellence. She also praised her annual sponsorship for exceptional female graduates, while providing, to Her Highness, the most beautiful appreciation and the highest loyalty and gratitude.
She also expressed utmost appreciation and gratitude to H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, for his great support for education and his central role, and to H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, for his great encouragement for distinction and pioneering, and his initiatives and generous gestures that represent the various types of support for Zayed University, to perform its message in the best possible way.
She then expressed her utmost gratitude and appreciation for H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, for his constant patronage and support for the university.
She thanked Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, for supporting the achievements of education and elevating its level, as well as Dr. Ahmad bin Abdulla Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Higher Education, for his efforts to develop and strengthen various sectors of education.
She added that the graduates today are tasked with mobilising their creative energies to answer the call of the wise leadership for innovation, sustainable knowledge and continuous progress by developing their abilities, constantly sharpening their skills and being diligent to learn without limits, stressing that they are the builders of the present and the makers of the future.
