Antiquities Minister Mamdouh el Damaty said restoration work of the Islamic Art Museum, which has been badly damaged by a bomb explosion targeting the nearby Cairo Security Directorate last year, has been roughly wrapped up.
"Nearly 70 percent of the restoration has been accomplished," Damaty told MENA, adding the museum will be reopened in October.
He said more than 89 artifacts have been restored, adding about 179 more would be renovated.
