The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) condemned the terrorist act which targeted a police bus and resulted in the death of a policeman and the injury of eight others.
In a statement, the institution denounced the criminal act with a homemade bomb which targeted the police bus while travelling near Jidhafs today. It described the act as a blatant transgression of the right to life, stressing that it aims to undermine security and stability, terrorise people, threaten civil peace and encroach on human rights.
The institution called to confront such acts which violate human rights by taking effective measures, hold on to national unity and renounce all forms of violence. It also extended condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the martyr, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
