Bahrain strongly condemned the terrorist attack which targeted a security barrier in northern Sinai in Egypt, causing the death of a number of military personnel, including a colonel.

The Foreign Ministry extended deepest condolences to the people of Egypt and to the victims’ bereaved families.

“The terrorist act, which represents an affront to religion, is contrary to all human and moral values and principles”, it said in a statement issued today.

‏It reaffirmed Bahrain’s firm support to Egypt in its fight against terrorism as well as its efforts to promote security and stability.

The statement stressed the necessity of uniting all efforts to root out violence, extremism and terrorism which threaten international peace and security.
