Al Azhar on Saturday mourned on Saturday the killing of 10 Saudi soldiers in a Houthi attack in Yemen.
In a statement by Azhar, Grand Imam Ahmed al Tayyeb offered the condolences to the Saudi King and the people of the kingdom as well as the families of the slain personnel.
The statement hailed the Saudi stances and sacrifices to support the Arab-Islamic nation.
On Friday, a shelling by militias loyal to the Shiite Houthi group and former Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh in Marib province, northeast of the Yemeni capital Sanaa, left scores of the Saudi-led Arab coalition's personnel dead and wounded.
The attack has claimed the lives of five Bahraini, 10 Saudi and 45 Emirati troops.
