Al Azhar strongly condemned the terrorist attack that took place Sunday in the Turkish capital Ankara and left a large number of people dead and injured.
In a statement issued on Monday, Al Azhar expressed rejection of all forms and kinds of terrorism, adding that such attacks contradict with the moderate teachings of all the heavenly religions, laws and humanitarian values.
The great Islamic edifice called on the international community to unite efforts so as to uproot extremism.
The explosion, which hit Ankara, left 37 persons dead.
