The Abu Dhabi Police said they caught the Asian men after robbing a resident who had just withdrawn money from a bank. The victim contacted the police after the suspects ran away with his money.

According to the police, the men alerted the victim that his car had a flat tyre while he was outside the bank. As he moved out of the car to check the tyre, one of the men opened the door on the other side and took away the envelope containing money.

Colonel Tareq Khalfan Al Ghoul, deputy director of the criminal investigation department at the Abu Dhabi Police, said the police launched an investigation the suspects were arrested without delay.

"The men tricked the victim into believing that his car had a flat tyre so they can get away with his money."

The Abu Dhabi Police had issued a number of security tips for bank customers last month to safeguard their cash from robbers who might trick them.

The police advised customers to avoid withdrawing huge amounts of cash and not to carry big amounts with them.

The security tips also included not to accept any help from strangers while using an ATM card, leave the bank immediately after withdrawing money and not to stop on the way for unnecessary reasons.

The police also advised people to make use of credit cards or debit cards for shopping instead of carrying large amounts of cash to avoid the risks of being robbed.

Bank customers were also told not to pay attention to anyone who intercepts their way after withdrawing money from banks and to be cautious about anyone approaching them after making withdrawals from banks.
