A 51-year-old Indian electrician has been sentenced to three months in jail on a molestation charge. The Dubai Court of First Instance found him guilty of groping an 8-year-old girl, while she was at home with her maid.

He will be deported after completing his jail term. The incident happened on September 4 and was reported to Al Rafaa police station.

The Indian girl said the defendant was doing some repair work at their home and the maid was busy carrying out her duties. She said he touched her inappropriately, after which she locked herself inside the bathroom, waiting for him to leave.

The girl's father, a 36-year-old engineer, said the accused worked as a maintenance worker in their building. "He came to our house to fix some water leaks in the kitchen and bathroom."

The defendant admitted to the police that he touched the girl inappropriately. The girl identified him among other suspects at the police station. He admitted to the charge during investigation.
