Dubai Police nabs two drug dealers

Carrying out swift undercover operations, the Anti-Narcotic Department of Dubai Police arrested two Asians and seized 9kg and 567grams of amphetamines from them. The duo was charged with drug trafficking.

The two Asians belonged to different nationalities, said Maj Gen Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs at Dubai Police.

Colonel Eid Mohammed Thani Harib, director of General Department of Anti- Narcotic, revealed that on getting tip-off, two police teams were formed. The first team posed as drug buyers and nabbed one dealer red-handed while he was accepting the money.
The 31-year-old dealer was selling the drugs through a huge racket, whose kingpin stays outside the country.

Colonel Eid Harib added after the first dealer was nabbed, he was asked to call his accomplice - the second Asian - and deliver the drugs to another undercover police team, impersonating as customers. The second defendant was caught by the cops in a hotel lobby, while he was handing over a bag containing more than 5 kg of crystal anesthetic.

The police teams also ransacked the hotel rooms of the dealers and found two bags containing more than 4kg and 567 grams of crystal anesthetic.
