A 39-year-old Pakistani driver has been charged in the Court of First Instance with molesting a 16-year-old boy. According to public prosecution records, the accused met the victim, an Indian student, at a mall and then lured him to his car, following a short conversation.
He allegedly kissed the boy and made him touch him inappropriately. He denied the charges in court. The investigating prosecutor recommended to court that the most severe punishment be inflicted on the defendant, as allowed by the law.
The incident was reported on September 23 to Bur Dubai police station.
The boy said the incident occurred at noon when he was at a mall. ?I had just walked out of the restroom when I saw the accused. He asked my name and nationality and then invited me to ride in his car."
Once inside his car, the defendant talked to the teen before molesting him. He let him go shortly later.
The victim then went to his father, who owned a shop at the mall. "My father informed the security guards, who called the police. The accused was caught then."
The boy told the police he did not try to scream as he "was too shocked to react". He said he did not try to get out of the car because he thought it was locked.
A police corporal said: "We went to the mall and found the defendant, who had been restrained by the mall security guards, at the police centre. The victim, who looked confused, was there with his father and he recounted to us what the accused did to him. The latter confessed willingly that he molested the boy."
