The official spokesman of the Border Guard said that it thwarted an attempt to smuggle nearly half a ton of hashish through the island of Farasan in Jazan region.
The spokesman said that at ten and a half on Thursday, 13/9/1438 H., citizens reported suspicion in a naval vehicle which approached the island's shore before returning to where it came. By combing its stopping site, 485 kilograms of cannabis were found hidden under trees. The Border Guard authorities have begun investigating the incident.
