A 19-year-old Pakistani man is fighting for his life in Al Dhaid Hospital after he stabbed himself four times in his abdomen using a sharp knife in Al Madam city in the emirate of Sharjah.

Officials said that the Al Madam police station received a report that an Asian stabbed himself at his residence in Al Madam area. The ambulances and police patrols moved to the scene, where they found the man excessively bleeding after he stabbed himself several times in the body, according to testimonies of his friend.

The paramedic team managed to stop the bleeding and then rushed him to the hospital, where he was admitted to the ICU.

Police have launched an investigation over the case and are waiting for the man to recover.
