The mishap was caused due to over speeding

Two Emirati nationals received serious injuries in a traffic pile-up accident on the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed road late on Monday.

Brigadier Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al Humaidi, director general of the central operations room, RAK police, said the mishap was caused due to speeding and the drivers' failure to leave due safety space.

The central operations room of the RAK Police, having been alerted of the collision, dispatched traffic police, ambulances, paramedics and rescue teams to the site in a record time.

"The pile-up, involving four cars, took place on the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed road, on Tuesday around 4.40pm."

Two Emirati citizens were seriously injured in the accident, he added. "The first was 25 years old while the second was 39 years old."

One of the cars involved in the collision veered off the road and rammed into two other cars driven by two Arab drivers, he disclosed.

"The first was 35 years old while the second was 41 years old, but luckily both of them escaped the collision unhurt."
