Top Isis commander killed in Mosul as Daesh fighters close key bridges to the city

Iraqi forces said they killed a senior Daesh leader within the course of the ongoing military operation in Mosul city.

In a statement on Thursday, the Joint Operations Command's military media cell said that the terrorist, named Khalid al Maytoyate, was chosen to succeed Muhannad Hamid, alias "Abu Aisha", who was killed at the hands of Iraqi forces in Intisar district in Mosul city.

The liberation operation of Mosul city started on October 17.
