The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, OIC, condemned the decision of the so-called ‘Israeli Conciliation Court’ in the occupied Al-Quds (Jerusalem) to the effect that the Al-Aqsa Mosque is a holy site for the Jews, thus giving them the right to pray in it.
The OIC sees this as a dangerous continuation of the violations by the Israeli occupation and of its attempts to legalize the Judaisation policies and the continuing onslaughts against the sanctity of the Muslim and Christian holy sites.
The OIC Secretary General, Yousef Al-Othaimeen, stated that this decision is a flagrant breach of international law, the Geneva Conventions, and the United Nations resolutions on the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, the most recent of which was the UNESCO’s resolution declaring it as a place of worship for Muslims only. He warned about the dangerous consequences of these Israeli policies that can fuel extremism and stoke religious conflict. Al-Othaimeen called on the international community, particularly the Security Council and UNESCO to ensure freedom of worship and protect Islamic and Christian holy sites in Al-Quds Al-Sharif
