President Obama signed a 2012 spending bill that also includes language to keep government running through Dec. 16, the White House said Friday. HR 2112, which handily passed the House of Representatives Thursday, provides full-year appropriations for fiscal year 2012, ending Sept. 30 for the departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, Justice, Transportation, and the Food and Drug Administration, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the National Science Foundation, and other agencies, the press secretary said in a statement. It also provides continuing funding through Dec. 16, 2011, \"for the remaining projects and activities of the federal government,\" the statement said. The bill was approved earlier Thursday by the House on a 298-121 vote in which more Democrats supported it than Republicans, The Hill reported. Among Democrats, 165 supported the bill and 20 opposed it. Within the GOP caucus, 133 representatives supported it and 101 opposed it.
