The Egyptian Interior Ministry announced that three police officers killed and five others wounded in an attack by gunmen on a security patrol in Cairo.
The ministry said in a statement, issued by the Middle East News Agency, that gunmen in two cars shot a security patrol in the city of Nasr, and forced them to exchange fire until they fled.
The statement added that three police officers were killed and five others were wounded. Ambushes were immediately set up in the vicinity of the incident area to track and arrest the perpetrators, according to the statement.
