If a long list of lucky escapes was ever made, this one would surely rank among the top five.

A driver in China had a narrow escape after a crane fell on his car while he was driving, crushing the vehicle completely. Fortunately, his car had a sunroof, and the driver was able to climb out of it.

He was taken to the hospital and treated for fractures in his right ankle.

The incident took place when the 29-year-old, identified only as Li, was heading to work in China's Zhuzai province on Tuesday.

A CCTV footage of the road shows the moment the crane fell on the car, crushing the front part of the white Audi completely. People feared the worst, but in a miraculous moment, the driver emerged out of the flattened car alive.

"There was no sign at all and I think I was in a blind spot when the crane fell. My mind went blank and I was holding the pain when I crawled out of the car," Daily Mail quoted the driver.
