Chinese incursions into India

Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has revealed that there has been a wave of incursions by the Chinese army into Indian territory since July 24. Nearly 30 Chinese soldiers entered the Barahoti area of Chamoli, Uttarakhand, and spent some time there unchallenged on July 24, 25 and 26 and 30, MHA sources confirmed.
Air transgressions have also been reported from the area.
Such incursions are considered “routine” in the area, but since it comes at a time of a standoff between the two armies in Sikkim, it assumes significance.
People’s Liberation Army (PLA) troops came nearly a kilometre into the Chamoli area of Uttarakhand. They had a heated exchange of words with Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) before they left after two hours.
