Border guard patrols Saturday clashed with armed men from terrorist organisations who came on three motorcycles from Syria and tried to attack the guard’s frontline positions near Al Rukban refugee camp on the northeastern border area.

A source at the Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army command headquarters said troops destroyed the motorcycles and killed the gunmen.

It said a member of a guard patrol, Lance Corporal Hamza Al Qudah, was wounded in the hand and was in a stable condition after he received the necessary treatment.

The source said the Jordan armed forces will respond with full force to any attempt to undermine the Kingdom’s security and stability.
