A Mi-8 helicopter crashed in the Russian Eastern Siberian Irkutsk region on Tuesday, killing two people, a spokesperson for the regional Emergencies Ministry said. The Emergencies Ministry spokesperson said that there were 16 people, including three crewmembers, aboard the helicopter, according to Russian (RIa Novosti) News Agency. A source in the Russian Aviation Committee (Rosaviatsia) said 14 people were injured in the accident. The helicopter, owned by UTAir airline, was ferrying oil workers from the town of Ust-Kut to a drilling site. According to the local authorities, the passengers worked for a subsidiary of state-owned oil giant Rosneft.
