Rabat - Mohamed Ibrahim
Nigerian footballer Shikatara of Moroccan Wydad Casablanca expressed his frustration over the campaign that targeted him during the recent period to raise skepticism over the number of international matches in which he participated with Nigeria’s national team.
He added, in a statement to “Arabs Today”, “If I did not participate in ten matches with my national team, why the major clubs held negotiations with me recently?” He added that those people who launched such rumors aim to smear my image before the fans to retaliate against my insistence to remain with Wydad and to meet my commitments to the Moroccan team.
He added that President of Nigerian Football League provided him with certificate proving his participation with his national team for over ten matches, stressing that he will exert efforts not refute the claims against him on pitch not by statements.
