Ahmad Ould Yahia Nouakchott – Arabstoday Sources have revealed to Arabstoday that head of Mauritania Football Federation Ahmad Ould Yahia referred the issue of international football player Dominique Da Silva to Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdelaziz. Yahia said Abdelaziz officially pledged to restore Da Silva's citizenship rights in order to have him return to the Mauritanian National Team. The same sources stated that Dominique can officially return to the national team in the next round of matches, as well as the friendly matches scheduled to be held before the 2012 African Nations Cup. Dominique Da Silva’s return will be great news to Mauritanian football fans, owing to Da Silva’s proclaimed love for Mauritania, which he often expresses in media interviews. Da Silva spent his childhood in Mauritania and graduated from the National Football Academy, to become one of the best players in Africa. He had a successful career in the Tunisian League, before he finally joined the Egyptian Al-Ahly team which won several African Cups. Da Silva was deprived of his right to renew his Mauritanian passport, which in turn stops him from representing the Mauritanian national team and stands in the way of his career.
