Camp Nou

Camp Nou Madrid - Arabstoday   Barcelona are understood to be considering leaving Camp Nou, their home ground since 1957, and building a new state-of-the-art stadium in the city. A report in Catalan daily El Mundo Deportivo claims president Sandro Rosell and other club officials are giving serious thought to the move which will be discussed at a board meeting later this month. The club had initially looked t0 invest in a \"comprehensive modernisation\" of Camp Nou, but with the current stadium unable to compete with the other modern stadia across Europe in terms of the facilities and services provided, a decision could now be taken to build a new purpose built home. Rosell will meet with the board to discuss the matter in the second week of March, according to El Mundo Deportivo, where they will discuss a whole host of subjects as part of the club\'s strategic plan until 2016. Home sweet home Barca\'s current home, the magnificent Camp Nou, is currently Europe\'s largest stadium with a capacity of 96,366, and has been their home ground for the past 55 years.
