Cairo - Mohamed Mahmoud
Goalkeepers coach of Egypt's Ahly football team Tarik Soliman stressed that his team's loss of the Super Cup against rival team Zamalek is not considered a defeat, as it came through penalties. He praised the recent win the team achieved during the match against the Atab Contractors, as it restored the players' confidence after the increasing criticism.
He added, in a statement to "Arabs Today", that the increasing criticism is not logic, saying that there is no team around the world can win all matches. He congratulated the team's striker Emad Moteb for his goal during the last match. He stressed that the team focused currently on keeping the Egyptian league for the second consecutive year.
He stressed his keenness to train the goalkeepers on dealing with penalties, saying that Ahly's goalkeeper Sherif Ekramy managed to repel two penalties this season during the league matches. He added, "It is impossible to assess a goalkeeper from his ability to deal with penalties. Ekramy managed to keep his sheet clean during 16 matches this season."
