French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe called on Iran to release prisoners who are being detained arbitrarily in jails. In article issued today in the French daily \"Le Monde\", Mr. Juppe said that the international community had no option but to toughen sanctions against officials in light of the blatant human rights violations. \"Disregarding the Iranian people\'s legitimate aspirations and continuing the nuclear programme in total violation of the international law would only ostracise Iran further\", he said.
