Iran has the potential to retaliate against U.S. forces anywhere in the world, the Iranian ambassador to Moscow said Wednesday. \"The Americans know it very well what the country Iran is and what our potential is. Iran has a very good position to strike back at the U.S. everywhere in the world,\" Mahmoud Reza Sajjadi told reporters. He said an American attack on Iran would be \"a huge mistake.\" Still, the ambassador said Teheran had no intention to launch first strikes against the countries that could offer their territory to U.S. forces. \"Attacking Iran is a suicide for them,\" Sajjadi said. He added that Iran and Russia have agreed to restore the military-technical cooperation that was stopped after Moscow suspended the shipment of S-300 anti-aircraft missiles to his country in obedience with U.N. sanctions. U.S. President Barack Obama said last weekend that a military attack against Iran was fraught with risk and he preferred a diplomatic resolution to dispel tensions in the region.
