Finance Minister Hany Qadry said on Thursday that the wide international participation expected in the Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC), which will kick off tomorrow in Sharm el Sheikh, reflects the success of Egypt's international marketing plan.
In statements to MENA following his arrival at Sharm el Sheikh Airport, Qadry underlined that the marketing plan focused on the investment opportunities in Egypt, which include the fields of tourism, petrochemicals and oil exploration.
He cited a $12 billion contract signed with the British Petroleum company to extract minerals. "This deal will provide more job opportunities for youth," he said.
Moreover, Qadry shed light on the national 'Golden Triangle' project to develop Upper Egypt.
He noted that Egypt's economic conference will promote for projects in the fields of water desalination, roads, telecommunications, technology, marine services and logistics.
"Egypt provides an opportunity to the world countries to invest in a safe place," he concluded.
