The new Suez Canal project will expand the economic growth in Egypt, said Ismailia Governor's Media Adviser Ahmed el Yamani.

In statements to MENA Saturday, the three cities adjoining the project; Suez, Ismailia and Port Said will be the biggest beneficiaries.

"The project will surely decrease the unemployment rate in the three coastal cities," he added.

The new 45-mile lane aims to increase the Suez Canal revenues and bring in foreign currency to the Egyptian economy.
