Antiquities Minister Mamdouh el Damaty said on Wednesday that the Egyptian Grand Museum project would provide 21,000 jobs over the implementation period.
Also, it will contribute to developing the surrounding area, thus allowing the establishment of new hotels in the area, he added.
The 117-feddan project will help revive the tourism industry in Egypt, increase the cultural awareness of the Egyptian antiquities and support economy through attracting many tourists and visitors.
