Cairo - MENA
The government is adamant to find solutions to all problems facing citizens, especially the improvement of medical services, under its policy of achieving social justice, Prime Minister Sherif Ismail said.
During a meeting with a working ministerial group on Monday, the premier said the new comprehensive health insurance law has to be completed to achieve the equation of fulfilling the health needs of citizens and covering all segments.
The new draft law has become a dire need as the current enforced one is over 50 years old and does not cope with the new changes and developments, Ismail said.
The new health insurance system will be obligatory and based on social solidarity, he said.
Health Minister Ahmed Emad said service providers should be separated from the service organizers, adding that three new authorities will be established: a health insurance one assigned with funding the insurance system, a healthcare authority offering medical services and an authority supervising the health sector.
The working ministerial group is made of the ministers of health, finance and planning.
