Prime Minister Mohammad Salem Basindwa discussed on Monday with Director of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Office in Sana’a ,Saad Al-Arifi, cooperation relations between Yemen and the GCC General Secretariat. They touched on the entitlements of the second transitional phase ,under the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism, and the GCC vital role in supporting efforts to accomplish it. The meeting dealt with aspects related to the financial pledges of the GCC countries to support the development and social stability at this stage and what has been achieved so far regarding the allocations for the development projects or signing on agreements for financing a number of them. In this regard, the premier pointed out that the speeding up in the implementation of those projects will serve the transitional phase and will positively reflect on the development and the social stability. Basindwa highly valued the support of the GCC countries to Yemen especially in this stage. For his part, al-Arifi confirmed the keenness of the GCC Secretariat to provide all aspects of technical support to Yemen regarding the entitlements of the transitional phase. Al-Arifi pointed out that the implementation of many GCC-financed projects will begin soon after the completion of legal and technical procedures.
