Three Asian workers sustained major burns and injuries in one of three fire incidents that took place in Ajman on Monday morning. In the first incident, a massive fire broke out at a paint warehouse in the Ajman industrial area. The fire gutted a large quantity of paint barrels, the building and destroyed some vehicles. According to a Civil Defence official, the operation room received information about the fire around 10 am and immediately sent seven fire engines and an ambulance to the place of the incident. The ambulance and Civil Defence rescue units rushed the three workers to Khalifa hospital while the firefighters doused the fire in two hours and conducted the cooling operation. The Civil Defence fighters also removed the burnt cars after the police prepared the reports and handed over the premises to police forensic experts to determine the cause of the fire and prepare reports on the loss. At the same time, another fire broke out in the villa of a UAE national in Al Jarf area, gutting it in the process. The official confirmed that there were no casualties, but all the furniture in the house was destroyed as the fire, which started in a bedroom, spread quickly to the other parts of the villa. In a third incident, a fire destroyed rooms in a labour camp in the Ajman industrial area. There were no casualties but electric equipment and contents in the rooms of the camps were all gutted. The Civil Defence fighters, after being dispatched by the operation room, reached the site of the incident in a short time and doused the fire, preventing it from spreading to neighbouring buildings.
