The United Nations Development Programme-Bahrain, in cooperation with the organizing committee of the Youth City 2030, yesterday staged a workshop on sustainable development goals 2030.
The workshop targeted heads of cultural and youth centers. It focused on introducing sustainable development goals into the programmes of the Youth City 2030.
United Nations Resident Coordinator also UNPD Resident Representative, Amin Al-Sharqawi, reviewed the sustainable development objectives and the importance of integrating the youth and activating their role in achieving the same.
He said the workshop highlighted the importance of activating the sustainable development goals that are consistent with the 2030 vision, and Government Action Plan.
He added Bahrain had set the year 2018 to submit its report to the United Nations, thus it will be one of the first Gulf countries to speak the language of sustainable development.
