The Arabic content of the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Digital Encyclopedia (TAGEPEDIA), one of the projects of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org), exceeded 1.2 million entries, TAG-Org Chairman, Talal Abu-Ghazaleh announced Wednesday.
In a statement, Abu-Ghazaleh said the content will reach up to 2 million entries by the end of this year.
He stated that the launch of TAGEPEDIA will improve the ranking of the Arabic language on the Internet to be one of the top 4 instead of 13.
Meanwhile, TAGEPEDIA management said it welcomes any useful additional entries to its website: info@tagepedia.org. The website’s engine was developed by experts of the Electronic Solutions Department at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Information Technology International.
Abu-Ghazaleh also affirmed that the digital content of TAGEPEDIA is documented, reviewed, and useful and it does not offend any party, religion, or culture, thus, it is totally different from the Arabic content on Wikipedia in terms of quantity and quality; Wikipedia contains about 600,000 entries only.
TAGEPEDIA Manager, Tawfik Nabil Talhouni, said a team of researchers, academics, experts and linguists are working on enriching the content of the encyclopedia , and providing it with a huge quantity of documented information and knowledge for Arabic speaking people in all scientific, cultural, and cognitive fields.
