Syrian people voted to elect provincial council members for Aleppo province Syrian people went to polls on Sunday in Gaziantep, a Turkish city near Syrian border, to elect 29 provincial council members for the opposition-held Syrian province of Aleppo. The first free Syrian elections for opposition-held regions in Syria was held in Gaziantep due to security reason. There were 247 Syrians who cast their votes in the elections. Mouaz al-Khatib, the chief of the Syrian National Coalition, visited the polling station in Gaziantep.
