Damascus - Arabstoday
A Syrian footballer has been killed and several other players injured in a mortar strike on a stadium in Damascus. State news agency SANA reported that two shells landed on Tishreen Sport City Stadium, al-Baramkeh, during local club al-Wathbah's training session. The agency blamed "terrorists" for the attack. On Tuesday, witnesses said 31 people were killed in an army rocket attack in Syria's second city, Aleppo. The UN estimates that 70,000 people have been killed in the 23-month conflict.
