A small fire that broke out in a room of the Cairo governorate building was contained on Thursday morning before spreading to nearby rooms.

The governorate, in a statement on Thursday, said that a preliminary inspection of the room showed that the fire erupted as a result of a short circuit.

Only two persons suffered smoke inhalation and were treated on the spot, the statement added.
