The United Nations Security Council will hold consultations Tuesday evening on the humanitarian situation in Mosul at the request of the United States.

“The council will also discuss other issues related to the situation in Mosul with focus on humanitarian efforts”, according the presidency of the council.

UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Stephen O’Brien, will brief the council on the latest developments in the country, it added.
