There are certain conditions that foreign residents need to keep in mind

Saudi Arabia announced that infants of foreign residents will now be granted visa on arrival. This comes as a major relief to parents who will now not be required to obtain visa from their home country.

However, there are certain conditions that foreign residents need to keep in mind. The General Directorate of Passports was quoted saying, "The newborn will be issued a visa at the point of entry on arrival, provided the newborn has an independent passport and that the parents are residents in the kingdom - where the wife is dependent on her husband."

Last July, Saudi introduced a monthly fee for dependents of foreign workers, under which the worker must pay SAR100 ($27) a month for each dependent at the renewal or issuance of a residency visa. This will increase to SAR200 ($53) next year and SAR400 ($107) by 2020.
