A Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) delegation returned home from Gaza following an official humanitarian visit to inspect the final preparations to open a Bahraini school in the besieged strip. The delegation also took part in a programme to provide Ramadan Iftar meals for ten thousand Palestinians as part of the RCO charity schemes. RCO secretary-general Dr. Mustapha Al-Sayyed received the delegation members and congratulated them on their successful humanitarian mission. He expressed thanks and appreciation to the team for their dedication to carry out the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa towards extending a humanitarian lifeline to besieged Palestinians in Gaza. Dr. Sayyed paid tribute to RCO board of trustees’ chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa for his efforts to ensure the RCO delegation leave Gaza safely following the terror attack which targeted Egyptian soldiers at Rafah border crossing in Sinai. He also hailed the cooperation of Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa and Bahrain’s Ambassador to Cairo Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al-Khalifa, thanking the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) director Peter Ford for his efforts to ensure the safety of the RCO delegation.
