The Foreign Ministry\'s Diplomatic Institute on Wednesday held the 5th scientific symposium under the theme \"Tunisian-Qatari Relations,\" where Tunisian ambassador to Qatar HE Mohammed al-Munther al-Dharif spoke about the excellent strategic relations between the two countries in the political, economic and cultural areas. HE Al-Dharif said that bilateral relations are based on common heritage and the affiliation of the two countries to the Arab and Islamic nations, in addition to other common characteristics and established diplomatic relations. Speaking on political and cooperation ties, al-Dharif highlighted that Qatar was the first country to endorse the Tunisian revolution and wish it to build a civilian modern state and undergo a democratic transition. He added that Qatar has been always in the forefront of countries exchanging visits at the highest level after the success of the revolution, which reflected on bilateral cooperation, expanding it to include technical cooperation, investment, communications, trade, cultural exchange, and aspects of sports, youth and health. The Tunisian diplomat pointed to the several agreements signed and the different coordination committees set up between the two countries, and answered a number of questions posed by the audience. At the end of the symposium, he received the Diplomatic Institute\'s trophy from the institute\'s director HE Ambassador Dr. Hassan Ibrahim Al Mohannadi.
