The State of Qatar took part in the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation

The State of Qatar took part in the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation which concluded in the capital Beijing on Monday.
The Forum was held under the theme "Cooperation for Common Prosperity" with participation of senior officials from more than 100 countries including 29 heads of state and government.HE Qatar's Minister of Transport and Communication Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti chaired Qatar's delegation to the Forum.
The Forum aimed to expand ties between Asia, Africa and Europe, and support them with multi-billion dollar investments in infrastructure.The Forum is the largest international meeting under the initiative launched by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013 to revive the famous Silk Road. 
The Chinese president pledged $124 billion for the new Silk Road Plan to be "a path of peace, reunification and free trade".During the two days of the forum, the leaders discussed ways of cooperation in various fields, particularly infrastructure, transport, economy, trade and energy, with the aim of expanding technical standards and infrastructure plans for countries located on the "Belt and Road", and promoting integrated transport among continents.
