Qatar welcomed on  Saturday the Security Council vote condemning Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Muhammad Bin Abdurrahman Al Thani told the Qatari news agency that he hopes this decision will be “a serious step toward achieving just and comprehensive peace for the Palestinian people.”

He said settlements are a violation of international law, adding that Qatar has always supported the Palestinian cause.
