Prosecution in Matai city in the Upper Egyptian governorate of Minya ordered Monday an arms dealer and a woman accompanying him to be remanded in custody.

Yahia Youssef Sherif, 50, was arrested in Minya with 199 pellet guns in his possession.

The seized arms were smuggled from Matrouh through narrow mountainous passages adjacent to the western desert's highway in Minya, a statement by the Interior Ministry said on Sunday.
