Mecca - Arab Today
Tourism Minister Yahia Rashed said Wednesday that a problem of settling some pilgrims in a residential tower in al Aziziya area has been solved, stressing that they all checked into a number of hotels at the expense of the owner of the residential tower.
Rashed told MENA he is closely following the situation and receiving reports from head of the tourism hajj mission Mohamed Shaalan.
He said he is also contacting the head of the official hajj mission, Ashraf el Araby, to be updated with all developments and solve problems whenever they occur.
Pilgrims' comfort is the first priority, Rashed said, stressing that the government is working to guarantee that.
Rashed added that he receives daily reports from the tourism hajj mission.
A probe will be opened into the settlement problem that occurred Tuesday to determine those responsible and punish them, the minister said.
