The private sector will observe next Thursday (21st September), the first day of Muharram, as a public paid holiday to mark the Hijri New Year 1439, according to a circular issued by Saqr bin Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation.
Saqr Ghobash extended his sincerest greetings and blessings to the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council and the Rulers of the Emirates.
He also congratulated the government and people of the UAE as well as expatriate residents on the glorious occasion and wished further progress, prosperity and glory to the UAE and to Arab and Islamic nations.
